Hi,

Kernel 5.1. with TI SDK-08.02.00.24  is having Hugh Vulnerabilities reported, can you please provide the updated/latest Kernel with '0' Vulnerabilities with PRU support.

let me know if we can connect for the same if you have any particular queries specific to Vulnerabilities reported by Kernel 5.1.

  • Hello Raju,

    1) I assume you are using Linux kernel 5.10? We do not have any SDKs using Linux kernel 5.1.

    2) When you say "PRU support", do you mean PRU Ethernet support? Or generic support for running custom firmware on the PRU cores?

PRU Ethernet is supported on SDK 8.2 and earlier. It is not supported on SDKs 9.1 or SDK 9.3 (both are Linux kernel 6.1).

PRU Ethernet will be supported again on the 2025 SDK release, SDK 11.x (kernel 6.12).

    3) I cannot find any information about "Hugh Vulnerabilities". Please provide additional details. If this is sensitive information, you can send it to me through your local TI representative.

    Regards,

    Nick

Please find attached  excel sheet for hugh vulnerabilities in kernel during BDBA tisdk_8.02_kernel_5.10.csv

  • Hello Mahesh,

Apologies for the delayed response here.

When will AM437x SDK 11.x release?

The tentative schedule is to release AM437x SDK 11.0 in April. Feel free to check back in April for an update.

    National Vulnerability Database Report

I do not understand what you are asking for here.

Many of the vulnerabilities linked in that report are very old, and do not actually apply to the AM437x SDK. Let's look at some of the reported vulnerabilities for linux_kernel:
https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2003-1604 - reported in 2003, only applies for Linux kernel 2.6 or earlier
https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2012-0207 - reported in 2012, only applies for Linux kernel 3.2.1 or earlier

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Nick,

do you mean to say Kernel 6.13/SDK 11.00 with pru ethernet stack supported  from TI will be released in April 2025

  • Hello Raju,

    That is incorrect.

AM437x Linux SDK 11.0 will tentatively release in April (I cannot commit to a specific timeframe, so check back later on if you want an update).

All of the Linux SDKs that have the label of 11.x (11.0, 11.1, etc) will be on Linux kernel 6.12.

We will have support for generic PRU Ethernet (also called dual EMAC) re-added to AM437x Linux SDK 11.0.

    Regards,

    Nick
