CCSTUDIO: 20.0.2.5 Still too terse/overly complex with variable settings

Part Number: CCSTUDIO

Tool/software:

With CCS 12.8 I have some options when using variables to enter a path (include path, file search path, etc.), and let me at least see where it's pointing to

This is far from optimal, but at least I can see which are the variables that I can use and where it will lead to (if anywhere)

With CCS 20 that's still missing, and I'm left with just an entry box

From there I can blindly enter any nearly-correct nonsense, and I don't see where that's pointing to (if anywhere) -- especially when a path is defined by a chain of two or three variables.

Yes, I can follow the link command options in the output window, and decipher among the dozens of options and many paths that I have which is the offending one. But then again, sometimes it turns hard to go back on variable definitions and their chain of expansion.

  • Hello,

Yes, that was a feature we inherited from Eclipse for those older CCS versions. CCS 20 is based off a new IDE framework that does not offer the same options. We can look into evaluating the impact of trying to add this in on our own.

    Thanks

I spoke with engineering and it is already on their roadmap. It is something we hope to have for the 20.2.0 release end of May.
