AUDIO-AM62D-EVM: How to get a quick start with AM62D?

I have successfully burned the a53ss0-0_freertos, mcasp_stereo_playback.release.appimage.hs_fs, but after restarting the board, there is no response. The log is as follows:

Hi Roy,

For the uniflash logs, I can see that you have flashed mcasp_stereo_playback example to both a53 and c7x cores. Both these examples use the same MCASP instance by default. This might cause a resource conflict. I recommend you to flash one at a time or change the mcasp instance in one of the examples using sysConfig. Please try this and let us know.

Hi Roy,

Initially you sent the uart_uniflash logs for default_sbl_ospi_hs_fs.cfg
If you are using OSPI boot, no need to copy anything to SD_card. Just flash the c7x example, change the boot switch to OSPI boot mode and then power-cycle the evm.

Use the instructions in this image to listen to audio from the EVM.


If you are still facing problems, then use default_sbl_null_hs_fs.cfg. Just add the image for c7x/a53 in the config file and then flash.

From the image you have sent, I can see that you have not inputted any audio in J2 top. Please connect an input 3.5mm jack to J2 top and you will be able to hear it in J3 top via earphones ( in mcasp_stereo_playback example ).

I don't understand why I  need to insert a 3.5mm plug into J2. Isn't this a recording interfaces? Shouldn't I just need to insert an output plug? Or do I need a special cable? Or I need to insert two 3.5mm headphone together?

You will have to plug in a 3.5mm aux cable and connect the other end of the aux cable to a laptop/phone and play audio on the laptop/phone. In this example, you cannot directly take input via the microphone.

Your setup looks right to me. Can you test the following and let me know.

1. Flash default_sbl_null_hs_fs.cfg to am62d evm

2. Import the mcasp_stereo_playback example in CSS

3. Run the example 

Let us know, if you are able to see any different results after these steps.

There are some sample wav files in asdk-10.00.00/ti-asdk-bsp/packages/dspc/a53/AWECore/Audio/ folder.
You can try these for now.
