Hello,

We are going to purchase AM335x EVM TMDXEVM3358. We need to test the Gbit ethernet ports(x2).

The features mentioned on the EVM's product folder says "10/100 Ethernet (1)".

But I believe its a TYPO and it would be 10/100/1000.

In our case, we need to evaluate two ethernet ports,

if the EVM has only one ethernet port, is there any option to connect another port to this EVM?

Please let me know if there are any daughter card we need to buy for ethernet dual ports,

and also will the "Ethernet Driver" or StarterWare from TI support Dual ehternet/Dual MAC mode?

Hi,

There are two ethernet ports on the AM335x EVM. One port (J15) is on the baseboard while the other port is installed on the daughter board (J17).

The original EVM design had signal integrity issues that prevented it from operating at 1000Mbps. Therefore, the EVM documentation did not list 1000Mbps operation. The new design has resolved the issue with port1, but it could not be resolved with port2 be located on the daughter card. So port2 was removed on the new design.

I have heard some discussions related to building a new reference design that includes both ports, but I do not know the deatails on avaliability. We should be able to get you a better answer next week.

Please let me know if there is any updates on the EVM which supports Two ethernet ports.

Meanwhile we have already purchased the current EVM, which will be shipped on January 2012,

In which I believe there is only one GB Ethernet Port.

In that case, do you know any daughter cards or any other boards which could be used

to evaluate dual ethernet ports on AM335x EVM.

And also will there be any driver support for Dual Ethernet Ports,

I couldn't find such details in the StarterWare.
