TDA4VM-Q1: MCU RGMII Function

Part Number: TDA4VM-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi, we would like to use SoC ethernet ports. Is the MCU RGMII internally connected to the SoC Ethernet ports?

  • I am unclear on your question, can you please provide additional details?  Are you asking about the processor architecture or the EVM?

Regarding the processor architecture - the MCU's Ethernet controller (CPSW2G) is separate from the MAIN Ethernet Controller (CPSW9G).  Each has its own set of processor pins where these ports are available.  If you connect to the MCU's Ethernet pins - you will only communicate with CPSW2G controller.  Similar comment when connecting to ports of the CPSW9G.  Most internal processing cores can communicate with both CPSW2G and CPSW9G.
