I downloaded the C6000 Code Generation Tools compiler as recommended for my project involving the TMS320C6416T DSP. However, I am unsure about the following:
Does the C6000 Code Generation Tools require Code Composer Studio (CCS) to run properly?
No. You can run it standalone from command line terminal.
If yes, which version of Code Composer Studio supports the TMS320C6416T DSP, and is it free of license?
I believe every version of CCS from version 1 to 20 technically supports C6416. However, it has been deprecated in support in the more recent versions. CCS v3 and later can be used free of charge.
Thanks

thanks for your reply,
1.Is there any documentation that can help me understand how to run commands in the command line terminal?
2.Initially, I downloaded Code Composer Studio version 10, which supports the TMS320C6416. Are the TMS320C6416 and TMS320C6416T the same?
3.When I program the DSP (TMS320C6416T), do I need to reprogram it after a power-off?

See my response in this old thread:

Unless you programmed to some flash location, you would typically need to reload your program after power cycle.
Thanks
