EVMC6678 "select device" problem

Hi,

I have just installed CCS5.0.3 and I am trying to create a new target configuration file. But I can't find the EVMC6678 as an option in the drop down list of devices. I checked the directory C:\Texas Instruments\ccsv5\ccs_base_5.0.3.00023\emulation\boards, and there is many devices but not EVMC6678. Where can I get that from?

You need to select TMS320C6678. The directions with screen shots are at:

Hi Travis,

Still the problem is, there is no such an option in my dropdown list. There is nothing associated with 6678 if I select connection as "Texas Instruments XDS100v1 USB Emulator". Any suggestion?

After a long process of try and error, I finally got it up and running. The solution is simple but confusing - just try re-installing the ccs many times, until the missing files appear.

Not sure why you had issues. The CCS installer should have installed all the xml files automatically. Did you change anything on the install when it finally worked?

No, acctually not. I did try differernt settings during the installation, but didn't help. The last try was a desperate repeat with all default settings, and it worked.

Hope you can find out why.

The key may have been "with all default settings". Not sure, but I will inquire about it internally. Here are a few more posts to reference:
