DMA channel is not enough on DM365

Hi All:

I have tried encode 720P + VGA + QVGA on DM365 with Face Detection and AAC enabled, I found that It will failed when I request another 3 DMA channel, anyone who can help on this:

1. How can I get the DMA channel consumption for the Encode/Resize/FaceDetection/AAC under different case?

2. Is there any method to get the free DMA channel?

3. Is there any way to save the DMA channel?

Any comments would be appreciate!

Tracy,

EDMA channel for the above use case should be enough. Multiple video codec instance need same number of channel as the codec runs in time multiplexed way. Video codec EDMA channel usage is written in the data sheet. AAC codec does not use EDMA. Audio driver should use 2 channel.

Are you running short of EDMA channels ? Which DVSDK are you using ? If you are using older DVSDK (like 2.1), the the kernel blocks the edma channel for its driver. SO in that case you should go and modify value of DM365_DMACH2EVENT_MAP0 and DM365_DMACH2EVENT_MAP1. Details in below link.
