Tool/software:
Hi Expert,
How to set up DDR SPD?
Is it necessary to connect 4 DDRs? The customer only wants to connect 2 DDRs?
Is there an AVL list for reference?
Thanks
Daniel

Daniel,
How to set up DDR SPD?
I am sorry but I am not sure what SPD is. Can you please provide more details?
Is it necessary to connect 4 DDRs? The customer only wants to connect 2 DDRs?
No, a customer can use just 2x DDRSS. However, they must use the DDRSS in order. In other words, they must use DDRSS0 and DDRSS1 if only using 2x of the 4x available DDRSS. Some signals of unused DDRSS may need to be tied a specific way and not left floating. Will need to follow-up where this is documented.
Is there an AVL list for reference?
No, we do not provide an approved vendor list.

Kevin
Hi Kevin
SPD is used to store module-related timing parameters, manufacturer, serial number and other practical information.
Taking other manufacturers as an example, SPD will be stored in EEPROM, and the possible parameters that can be set are as follows:

There should be a place to set the brand, capacity, number of DDRs, etc. we want to use.
Thanks
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
We do not use EEPROMs to store information related to DDR on AM69x devices.
We provide a register configuration tool that can be used to generate register settings. The corresponding output file then needs to be integrated into the bootloader.
