DVSDK 4.02 update release

Hello all,

I have a problem of number of version with this new DVSDK.

If you take a look at the previous release (DVSDK 4.01.00.09), you will find the PSP in 3.20.00.14 version. In this new release of the DVSDK we get also the same version of the PSP BUT there is a lot of modifications.

Is it just an error of version of the PSP in the new DVSDK ? All of these changes are in stable version or is it just a tentative ?

I'm a little confused so if someone can give me some help.

Many thanks in advance.

Benoit

  • Hi Benoit,

In general every SDK release does not necessarily mean that the PSP version has changed. I don't know the full details of DVSDK 4.01 but its possible that the PSP version between 4.01 and 4.02 is the same but there have been other improvements/fixes. The release notes should have more details on what's new in DVSDK 4.02.

  • Hi Sid,

Thanks  for your answer. I'm aware of what you say, but here i think there is a mistake about the version of the PSP in the 4.02DVSDK. The PSP in these 4.01 and 4.02 releases are differents but have the same name. The release notes in the last DVSDK explain that some modifications about PSC and MMC are done. That why, i want to know if these modifications are stable and the mistake is just in the name of the directory.

I hope you understand what i trying to say.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Benoit,

Both DVSDK 4.02 and 4.01 are based on PSP 03.00.01.06,  and sometime SDK team applies certain patches on top of standard PSP to either add a new features or do the bug fixes  found during DVSDK development cycle. IIRC, PSP 03.00.01.06 does not have support for SmartReflex, whereas during DVSDK 4.02 development we needed this feature and hence ended up patching PSP to add this support. All the patches applied on top of standard PSP's are always available in "patches" directory. if you notice then i believe we have named the PSP version as "03.00.01.06.sdk"  to indicate that some patches are applied by SDK team. BTW, those smartflex patches are now available as part of latest PSP releases.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks
