I know the R5 FW ti-dm was included at tispl.bin.

Please confirm if my understanding is correct

I think the the STEP12(MCU RTCU) mean the "DM fw image", right?

And does it mean the file of meta-ti-bsp/recipes-bsp/ti-dm-fw/ti-dm-fw.bb ?

Is it the same thing about filename = "ti-dm.bin" of u-boot/ti-u-boot/arch/arm/dts/k3-j721s2-binman.dtsi ?

We are worried that if we load the ti-dm incorrectly, the system will not boot.

May i create other partition to flash it?

Or, Can we bypass the ti-dm loading failed?

Hello,

R5F0_0 is the device manager firmware. That's mandatory and cannot be avoided. DM stands for device manager. This takes care of power management and resources management.

In the diagram it's step 9.

Do you mean that the ti-dm.bin(recipes-bsp/ti-dm-fw/ti-dm-fw.bb) is the step9 and run for R5F0-0?

Does it running at main domain MCU?

Where is the image of STEP12(MCU RTCU)?

Does the DM fw mean ti-dm.bin and run at mcu domain R5F?

Correct. HLOS will start running on A72 and DM will run on MCU domain R5F.

Yes. You are correct this is going to main domain R5Fs and the MCU RTOS is the one TI-DM which runs on MCU Domain R5Fs.

There are 4 MCUs in TDA4AL.

Under the picture, does the step10 and step13 are difference core?

If so, where is the fw image of MCU RTOS part?

My question is

Where is the image path of following two steps?

SPL configures DDR and loads MAIN R5 & A72 images

and

SPL loads MCU R5F SW and requests SYSFW to reset it

Hello Daniel,

In the current SDK the R5 SPL only loads DM on to itself after SPL execution. The main domain R5Fs are loaded only at U-Boot stage.

R5 SPL configures DDR but does not load main R5Fs. They are loaded later on by A72 U-Boot.

This is the DM binary loaded towards the end of R5 SPL on to itself.
