OMAP 4430 Data Manual Operating Condition Addendum

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: 4460

Hi there,

I'm developing software on a Pandaboard and also got hold of the latest TRM's of the OMAP4430. In the TRM's a document is mentioned that I simply can't find anywhere on TI's webpage, it's the so called "Data Manual Operating Condition Addendum".

Can anybody help me finding that document, or is that kind of classified or something ?

Cheers,

    Michael

  • Hello Michael,

I dont think such a addendum document is available in public domain and it's not very clear what specific information you are looking for. Please note thatyou can find the OMAP4430 data manual from http://www.ti.com/pdfs/wtbu/OMAP4430_ES2.x_DM_Public_Book_vC.pdf

  • I'm in the same situation.  I'm trying to figure out the clock frequencies and dependencies of the verified Operating Performance Points (OPP) of the OMAP 4460.  The 4460 TRM references the "Data Manual Operating Condition Addendum" for this information:

page 511: "Table 3-331 lists the supported DVFS OPPs for each voltage domain. The exact values depend on the
silicon; for more information, see the Data Manual Operating Condition Addendum."

page 512: "NOTE: For the supported OPPs for each device in the OMAP4460 family, see the Data Manual
    Operating Condition Addendum."

    page 512: "DVFS OPPs Dependencies
For detailed information about DVFS OPP dependencies, see the Data Manual Operating Condition
    Addendum."

I downloaded the Data Manual (DM) at the same place where I found the TRM: http://www.ti.com/general/docs/wtbu/wtbudocumentcenter.tsp?templateId=6123&navigationId=12037#62

The DM references the Data Manual Operating Condition Addendum almost every page in the second half of the document:

"See DM Operating Condition Addendum for CORE OPP voltages."

If the DM Operating Condition Addendum is not available in the public domain, it seems strange that it should be referenced so many times from a public-domain document. If it is publicly available, do you know where I can find it?

    Thanks

  • Hello Ryan,

The DM Operating Condition Addendum is not available publicly.  Please contact your local TI representative regarding obtaining it.

On another note, the kernel source code tells you the frequencies used for various OPPs (in Hz), as well as domain dependencies.  Under the kernel directory, the file arch/arm/mach-omap2/opp4xxx_data.c lists this information for the various silicon versions, including 4460.

You can quickly access the code from omapzoom (this link shows kernel 3.0 for IS releases):

    http://git.omapzoom.org/?p=kernel/omap.git;a=tree;h=refs/heads/p-android-omap-3.0;hb=refs/heads/p-android-omap-3.0

    Regards,
