Tool/software:

  1. The USB bus is not used in this product. All the signals are left NC. Can VBUS also be left NC or should it have a reference voltage?
  2. For the UART protocol, only the Tx and Rx are used. Can CTSN and RTSN be left NC?
  3. As for the JTAG connection, the reset is neither controlled by the host nor device. Hence, it is preferred that the JTAG link is always active. Is this the correct implementation?

    1)  VBUS pin can be left open/floating if unused.

    2) Yes CTSN, RTSN can be left open

    3) TRSTN is usually connected to the same interface as the other JTAG signals.  Most emulators control this pin.  Typically, this pin is pulled down to hold in reset when not used.  If not controlled by emulator and if you plan to use, it would need to be pull-up to ensure interface is NOT reset.
