AM6442: On AM64X Linux SDK - on TI cgit, where are the serial drivers that can interact with the SoC UART4 peripheral?

Tool/software:

I am trying to locate the Linux generic serial drivers that the Soc UART4 can be used with an application.

This will be a system project, whose first implementation has an A53 core controlling SoC UART4, which will be implementing IPC to interact with an R5 core reading EQEP0 values.

Further questions:

Please confirm how one needs to add the UART4 to the Linux device tree?
Does anything need to be initialized specifically in the SysConfig tool for the UART4 to be mapped to an A53 core?
What is the maximum bit transmission rate that the UART4 can employ when mapped with the A53 core?

Hi Jim,

On Linux, all the UART ports use the same driver stack. Since the console UART is functional, all the UART related drivers are enabled in kernel. To enable UART4, the only change needed is in kernel device tree - the pinmux, aliases, and enabling main_uart4 node. Please use main_uart0 as an reference as explained in the link below.

You probably want to SysConfig to generate the pinmux configuration, nothing else needed from SysConfig.

Up to 3.6Mbps baud rate is validated in Linux.
