AM67A: Can the SDK of AM62A be ported to the AM67A platform

Part Number: AM67A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM67

Tool/software:

Hello, TI expert.

I originally used the AM62A. Now, for a new project that requires support for 2 cameras, I need to select the AM67A. I would like to ask, is there a big difference between the SDKs of these two chips? Can I directly use the SDK of the AM62A and then transplant the corresponding camera drivers to support the 2 cameras? In this way, I only need to maintain and develop one set of code.

Please kindly provide your professional advice. Thank you.

  • Hello Eric,

As a general statement, any code from AM62A can be ported to AM62A.

However, Please note that there are differences between AM62A & AM67; we suggest looking into the respective datasheet and TRM for details. Also, the TI SDKs for these devices are provided to the TI boards - ie. SK-AM62A-LP versus  J722SXH01EVM, so generally, there would be board-specific differences.

So we advise that you know the difference noted above before deciding on your development strategy.

    Thanks.
