Hello TI.

We are using yocto SDK 9.0

We face below display issue.

We built system image "tisdk-default-image" and put on SD Card to boot.

1. First boot, it looks normal which the default TI psplash boot logo/progress bar is shown on LCD.

We also can display our image on LCD using fbi cmd that we added in the image. (in this case, sometime weston & works, sometime not)

2. After the first boot, we reboot our board, then nothing is shown on LCD.

- issue waston cmd failed 100%

- then sometime we can display our image on LCD by using fbi (in first part of log below), most we cannot.

Paul,

is this on the standard TI SK-AM62B EVM board?

If so, can you try our current/latest SDK to see if you can re-create the issues there:
https://www.ti.com/tool/download/PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-AM62X/10.01.10.04

There are a number of improvements always in later SDK version, so it'll be good to see if this fixes it.

Hello Andreas

Yes, on the EVM, also same as in our custom board. We plan to migrate to latest SDK later.

After first boot, We try to run a command #/usr/bin/psplash, the LCD/backlight is on and show TI boot logo.

Then we can display our custom image on the LCD (use # sudo fbi -d /dev/fb0 -a -noverbose img.png). It seems the display driver is triggered.

In contrast, if we don't run psplash command, nothing is shown after we run # sudo fbi -d /dev/fb0 -a -noverbose img.png.

How could we initiate or trigger this display, fb0? (if we don't run psplash). Thanks.

Ok, we are waiting for any feedback soon. thanks.

We are not sure this issue is related with psplash or not.

We try to remove psplash from our SDK, and we are UNABLE to see any display on LCD.

(As mentioned in previouse comment, when we have #/usr/bin/psplash, and run it, we could see psplash logo and then LCD dispaly is active; we are able to view our custome image, etc).
