Problem with SPI flash N25Q128 on omapl138

Hello,

Here I am facing on problem.

We are using Custom board for our application. I have placed U boot as well as QNX image on SPI flash.

But some times, QNX image fails to boot or crashes. I suppose there is problem with SPI, Because the same Image booted properly from NAND.

here I could not figure out the problem.

When I issue

> sf probe <>

> sf read <> <> <>

> sleep 5

> go <>

it is working fine...!

But when i automate the scripts

eg: bootcmd ' sf probe<>; sf read <> <> <>; sleep 5; go <>'

I could not able to load the image...

What could be the problem..

When I type one cmd at a time on u boot to boot from SPI it is working ffine..

but when i automate it is not working.

I am getting error as

## starting application at 0xc0008000

Please help me in this regard.

I used AIS gen tool to generate SPI Uboot bin with SPI Clock of 20MHz

My QNX oS image size is around 3.28 MB.

  • You might want to try running a slower SPI clock frequency and see if anything changes.  You can also try scripting all commands except the 'go' and then follow that up by loading another version of the QNX image via TFTP (or UART) and then using the 'cmp' command to compare what was read from the SPI flash to the loaded one (which should be representative of the file that you originally flashed.

    Regards, Daniel

  • Daniel,

Yes you were right, Need to reduce the SPI clock,

I got that working finally.. thanks for helping..
