J721EXSOMXEVM: error while Converting the BL31.elf to RPRC using the tiarmhex.exe file

Correction in my statement, this above error we are getting while converting the .elf OR .bin to .hex file ... we are using "ti-processor-sdk-linux-adas-j721e-evm-10_01_00_04-linux-x86-install"

Hi, Thank you for the reply .... Other binaries are doing good ... we have tried using the other commands like "tiimage_converter.bat" we are able to generate an empty .rprc and its says "bl31.elf is not a valid object file.". The same error we have observed when we compile it with working ATF as well.

I am able to reproduce the issue:

./tiarmhex --Intel bl31.elf --datawidth 8 -memweidth 8 --outfile=bl31.hex
tiarmhex: ../../master/OBJEDIT04/of_file.c:1265: static const char *OFE::OBJECT_FILE::simple_machine_name(OFE::OF_MACHINE): Assertion `0' failed.

INTERNAL ERROR: ./tiarmhex had an internal inconsistency and aborted

This is caused by a defect in the TI Hex Converter.
TI Customer Support may be able to suggest a workaround to avoid this.

Upgrading to the newest version of the compiler may fix this problem.

test case including ALL of the command-line options.

Typically this is what is done:

We get bl31.bin from Linux SDK.
Then we convert bl31.bin to bl31.elf using gcc compiler.
Then we convert bl31.elf to bl31.rprc using out2rprc.exe.
We use bl31.rprc to generate multicore image1

Any reason why you need Hex?

sorry for the delay in reply i was on vacation, we have tried with the .elf and facing the same issue.

could you please share me the steps or commands to be used, so that i will check at my side if im using the correct commands.
