does TI-Android-GingerBread-2.3.4-DevKit-2.1 support OMAP35x?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP3530

Hi,all

in TI-Android-GingerBread-2.3.4-DevKit-2.1 release notes,it said:

This release supports the following Texas Instruments devices

  •  AM35x, AM37x

This release supports the following platforms

  • Texas Instruments AM37x EVM (on the Mistral Rev G AM3715EVM)
  • Texas Instruments AM35x EVM
  • Beagleboard Rev Cx
  • Beagleboard XM Rev A/B/C

but  the cpu in Beagleboard Rev Cx is OMAP3530,why in the support devices list it did not metion OMAP35X?

  • Hi Yihao,

    1. Yes, beagleboard revCx is based on OMAP3530 and it is supported for android devkit release

    2. But, omap35x evm is not validated against android devkit. However one can always take the reference of android devkit and port the same on omap35x.

    3. Intention to release android devkit on most commonly used devices is - it can be easily taken as reference to port on similar kind of platforms

  • thank you very much , Satish :)

Accroding to your reply, there are two platroms: beagleboard revCx and omap35x evm.Now the android devkit release 2.3.4 release 2.1 only support beagleboard and  omap35x evm is not validated . Since the android devkit release 2.3.4 release 2.1 already support  beagleboard revCx which use omap3530 as it's cpu, why not add omap3x in the support list? Does this means it will be added  after this release support omap35x evm?

  • Hi Zhang,

You are correct..But we have stop validating against omap35x evm. But it does not mean devkit will not work on omap35x :)
