TDA4VM: Has MCAL been tested on Linux?

Part Number: TDA4VM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM2634,

Tool/software:

Dear Texas Instruments Support Team,

I hope this email finds you well. I am reaching out regarding the MCAL on Linux environment question.

Elektrobit would like to merge the Windows build environment with Linux.

We have worked with the AM2634, AM263PX, and TDA4VM previously.

Could you please confirm if these MCALs have been tested in a Linux environment? External generator tools support Linux?

Thanks,
Yulong FENG

  • Hi

    Thanks for the answer!

Some other vendors' MCAL contains such kind of tool called External Generator, it's often used to generate XML files. For example a vendor provide ARXML in their plugin, and they also provide a tool to convert is into XML.So when we using linux environment, we can't call this tool.

    Thanks

  • Hello,

We do have MCAL plugins (ARXML ) files but currently we do support only on windows environment. Linux environment we did not validate the plugins.

  • Hello

As I can see in MCAL of TDA4VM and AM263, there's always an XML file.

    MCUSW_09_00_00_10_CONFIG_j721e-evm-09_00_00_02\mcal_config\plugins\Wdg_TI_J784S4\config\Wdg.xdm and *.epd

    MCAL_AM263Px_09.02.00\mcal_config\plugins\AM263Px\Wdg_TI_AM263Px\config\Wdg.xdm and *.arxml

So I assume we can give it a try to build on Linux.

    Thanks

    Best regards
