Is the software leveling essential for DDR3 SDRAM used in DM816x PG 1.1 ?

Hi,

I have read the wiki page on the sw leveling of DDR3 SDRAM, and I found a JTAG emulator is needed to complete the software leveling.

The problem is we don't plan to buy a JTAG emulator, so I want to know whether or not the software leveling for DDR3 SDRAM is essential.

If the answer is yes, I also need to know whether there are some generic values used for software leveling.
