MC SDK Installation Issue

- I installed the official CCS  5.1.0.09000 then BIOS-MCSDK 02_00_04_16 on my Windows 7 64-bit machine

- The MCSDK installation failed near the last stage. Looks like the uninstaller for DVT did not get installed correctly. See ccsv5.1-install-dvt-error.png and mc-sdk-install-error-dvt-log-2 in attached zip file for details. I clicked OK in the application error dialog box and continued despite the message.

- Later I uninstalled both BIOS-MCSDK and CCS for some reason.

-The MCSDK uninstallation did not complete. It was stuck forever in the DVT uninstall stage. See ccsv5.1-uinstall-dvt-error.png in attached zip file for details. I had to forcefully abort the process. As a result, some files remained in the installation directories.

- I then reinstalled the CCS and MCSDK. It seemed to go through fine and I was able to build code c66x using makefiles without any issue.

Questions:

- What is the reason for the DVT uninstall / install behaving this way?

- What might be the side-effects of proceeding in spite of this issue? Will I be unable to use some tools or features (MCSA / DVT / profiling, etc)?

- I did select and include the MCSA component during my install. I then read this post suggesting that we should have excluded MCSA when using CCS 5.1. Is this related to the same issue? What is the fix / work-around other than reinstalling all the tools from scratch once again? http://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/code_composer_studio/f/81/p/144479/521536.aspx#521536

Thank you in advance for your help.
