C6 Integra Application and 2 HDMI Support

I need an urgent answer to my two questions on C6-Integra.

Q1. How can we support 2 HDMI outputs using either C6-Integra or Davinci - DM8168?

Q2. Apart from the application in bio-medical imaging can we also use C6-Integra in video processing applications, for example 1080p encoding @30fps using H.264 encoder?

Its good if the above question can be answered in terms of chip data bandwidth.

A quick response will be really helpful...

On the AM389x/DM816x EVM and IO daughter card we support the second HDMI out using an external Si9022 HDMI transmitter device on DVO[0] in 24 bit RGB mode. See schematics for both boards at:

I don't think you'll be able to do 1080p30 H264 encode on DSP only so you need the DM816x to access the HD-VICP codec accelerators to handle the encoding. 1080p30 encoding only requires ~ 500Mbyte/s of DDR bandwidth out of the theorectical 12.8GByte/s.

Thanks for the your quick response, However i would also like to know that why TI doesn't recommend C6-Integra for Video Processing application? According to knowledge, C674x has 1500 Mhz clock and all other features are same as DM8168 except HDVICP which is a codec accelerator. If not H.264 Encoder but one can run H.264 Decoder real-time on this DSP.

I want to use this DSP for my own codec full HD-Decoding. Now since it is not a standard codec i cant use HDVICP. So I see C6-Integra as good candidate with a higher clock of 1.5Ghz and low cost. So may know any other bottlenecks form memory or chip bandwidth point of view?

I suggested DM816x as you asked for H264 encoding which is a standard encoder for which we have acceleration on VICP and for which we do not have a DSP only encoder that will achieve 1080p30.

If you are trying to run your own algorithm then you do need to use DSP. You can use the C6Accel or C6Run frameworks to provide access to DSP from the ARM side for frame processing.

Currently max speed devices are 1.2GHz A8 and 1GHz DSP.
