How to get the maximum CPU speed?

Hello.

I want detect CPU maximum speed (ex. 1.0GHz/1.2GHz) by software but I can't find information to be realized it from the register map.

Can I get information of CPU speed from register?

If I can get that information, I hope to build the u-boot that configure the CPU speed  automatically.
