...oh no, now after reading the VPIF Users Guide, I'm wondering if the DM6467 VPIF can do RGB out at all. I'm using the THS8200 and want to produce VGA 640x480 60Hz. I believe I need to send the THS8200 16-bit RGB 4:4:4. Meanwhile, the VPIF Users Guide talks about raw RGB capture, but is otherwise focused on Y/C. I don't see any RGB output capability at all.
Am I totally hosed? or am I missing something.
Note that I am already writing a custom codec to handle all my internal Y/C data, and intent upon using that codec to convert to RGB. If necessary, I can cheat like this: pack my RGB data into what the VPIF thinks is Y/C, so that when the VPIF sends out Y/C, what's actually coming out is the RGB 4:4:4 that the THS8200 needs.
If I'm NOT totally hosed, but on the right track, then I still have a pending question at http://e2e.ti.com/support/embedded/f/354/p/149609/540734.aspx#540734
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Helmut
