AM6442: Configuring AM6442 ADC0 pins as GPI.

Part Number: AM6442
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG

Tool/software:

Dear Team,

We are using AM6442 in one of our design. We want to configure ADC0_AIN0 to ADC0_AIN6 as ADC input and configure ADC0_AIN7 pin (E20) alone as GPI functionality.

but in User Manual, the register CTRLMMR_ADC0_CTRL is having bit 16 GPI_MODE_EN which is described as: "Enables ADC0 data pins to be used as general purpose inputs when set. This signal is tied to the en_dig_test input of MCU_ADC0" => but there is nowhere else mentioned "en_dig_test" nor "MCU_ADC0" in the manual. So, it is difficult to ensure that it is pin by pin allowable/configurable as GPI & ADC0 function.

But there is a dedicated section to talk about that here: 12.1.1.4.2.2 ADC GPI Integration

And the sysconfig tool from TI is allowing to configure as an ADC or a GPI each of the 8 pins individually

So, for me it confirms that we can use only 1 pin (ADC0_AIN7) as a GPI when all others are ADC inputs.

Kindly confirm if above understanding is correct.

Also request you to share the procedure "How to configure a single pin as GPI & all others configured as ADC0".

Thank you.
Regards
Amarnath G
