TMS320C5535: Can I use the LCD interface to read from a parallel ADC at approximately 5 MSPS

I am interested to interface this DSP with a 12-bit parallel ADC. Can I use the LCD interface for this?

Hi Mohandas,

I am not sure what parallel ADC you are trying to interface with, but the LCD interface was not defined for the that purpose. You may want to use the SPI interface instead.

Thanks for the reply. I want continuous data stream from ADC. SPI adds discontinuity with chip select being deasserted and asserted. Is there any way at all to interface with parallel ADC with this DSP?

Hi Mohandas,

You can set the FLEN to 64 in SPICMD1, so that the CS assert and dis-assert only happens every 64 words. The other method you can use GPIO pins along with bit banging.
