We are working with the AUTOSAR Integration on the MCU R5F Core on the AM62A-LP Evaluation Board. We received the AUTOSAR Stack from Vector which uses the DaVinci Configurator Tool in order to configure the BSW Modules.

However, the TI MCAL uses the Elektrobit Tresos Studio for the configuration. For this, we had temporarily secured an evaluation license for the EB Tresos Studio from TI and exported the MCAL modules into the DaVinci Configurator. We were told to believe that once the MCAL configuration is imported into DaVinci we do not need the EB License but this is not the case as the DaVinci verifies the EB tresos license in the background before generation step.

Our goal is to configure all the modules (AUTOSAR + MCAL) in one tool i.e. the DaVinci Configurator as we already have invested in the licenses and the autosar stack. It would be expensive and counter productive to again reinvest into buying license for another configuration tool i.e. EB Tresos.

We are expecting that TI could support us on this by either providing an equivalent DaVinci Configuration for the MCAL or a EB Tresos License solution

The above method of generating arxml files is one way.

But you could also renew the EBtresos eval license provided by TI and continue using it or use the EBtresos production license provided by TI when going to production.

Hello Krithika,

Yes i did follow the steps as mentioned in the mcusw section. I could export the .arxml and import it into DaVinci. Davinci runs the EB_Tresos.cmd script in the background to check for existing MCAL licenses. As long as I had an EB Tresos evaluation license there were no issues however as soon as the eval license expired I could not generate the MCAL modules.

Is there any upper limit on renewing the EBtresos eval license and what is the process to renew the license continuously ?

Hi Nikhil,

There is no limit on renewing EBtresos license. The production license should have a validity of 1 year, and the Eval license a validity of 3 months. On approval, the license pdf contains both the licenses.

Hi Krithika,

I just have a small question on this, I already applied for a EB tresos resource in the past which expired in the end of march. Now i already have access to the EB tresos resource but i do not see any new eval licenses being published there ? I only see production licenses currently. In what intervals are evaluation licenses published ? Is there any other way to request only for an evaluation license ?

The validity of the same Eval license has been extended. So please re-validate your EB Tresos Studio with same key this time.

Hi Krithika,

I tried re-validating the the same Eval License but on activation I get an error in the Elektrobit Client License Administration that " License cannot be generated, it is already expired" - Could you help me with this ?
