Hi,
AM64x MCU+SDK does have Freertos support for A53, please note that this support is added as an experimental feature: https://software-dl.ti.com/mcu-plus-sdk/esd/AM64X/11_00_00_15/exports/docs/api_guide_am64x/RELEASE_NOTES_11_00_00_PAGE.html#EXPERIMENTAL_FEATURES
RT-Linux SDK is also supported for AM64x, you can check this: https://www.ti.com/tool/download/PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-RT-AM64X
Best regards,
Meet.
Hi Meet:
There is a very relevant coincident e2e entry from on (+) AM6442: FreeRTOS and RT-Linux Support from TI on A53 Core - Processors forum - Processors - TI E2E support forums that should be cross referenced when answered as appropriate.
In general, I think on the FAQ side, Bengaluru expert should make a clear cut FAQ on A53 supported OSs in the AM6* families - that question is being asked frequently with the dawn of the SDKs v 11.0 .
regards
Jim
I noticed that TI supports, EtherCAT stack is executed by a dedicated R5F Core running FreeRTOS.
Can TI support, EtherCAT stack (baremetal) is executed by a dedicated R5F Core running NO-RTOS ?
Hi Ravilla,
Currently we only support EtherCAT SubDevice stack on FreeRTOS.
Best Regards,
Meet.
Meet & Ravilla - one should use an RTOS or Linux when implementing EtherCAT; I believe even the TI Germany industrial communications experts would concur on that front.
