AM69: Setting USB0 into USB2.0 compliance mode

Tool/software:

I am attempting to run USB2.0 compliance testing on the USB0 interface in uboot. I have looked into the registers spreadsheet but have been unsuccessful in determining what registers I have to write to put the AM69 into compliance mode. What exactly are the steps to put the processors USB0 interface into USB2.0 compliance mode?

HI Chris,

After booting the Linux; login as root and then enter the following commands to send out the test packet on the D+/D- pins.

devmem2 0x06010480 w 0x000000A0
devmem2 0x06010080 w 0x00000004
devmem2 0x06010484 w 0x40000000

Measure the signal quality/ rise / fall time eye diagram using the USB2.0 electrical tool from the USB-IF forum.

Hi Diwakar,

After attempting to send the first command the board linux crashes. I also attempted to write and read these registers in uboot and I see the same errors

HI Chris,

Which sdk you are using ?

Are you using TDA4VH EVM or am69 ? also make sure dr_mode is set to "host".

Hi Diwakar,

We are using SDK j784s4-evm-09_00_01_03. The board is an AM69. The dr_mode was set to peripheral and I changed it to host but still when sending the commands it would crash

Can you try with the latest SDK version present in the below link as the SDK which you are using is for J784S4 EVM and not AM69.

Hi Gokul,

We also have some boards with the TDA4AH processor. I used the commands on that board with the SDK j784s4-evm-09_00_01_03 and still Linux crashes. We also have a J784S4XG01EVM board. Again I attempted to send the commands above and it also caused linux to crash after sending the first command. The SDK version does not appear to be the issue.

Sorry for the late reply.

Can you apply the below patch after switching to the <SDK>/board-support/<Linux directory>

After doing so,you should be able read and write to those registers on J784S4XG01EVM board .
