TDA4AEN-Q1: sprt775 app note and the results in PET

Part Number: TDA4AEN-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi champs,

there seems to be a big discrepancy between sprt775 app note and the results in PET with regards to the load step current:

For example:

For “superset” use case in PET we get step current value of 6320mA, while in the table it’s 12.7A.

For “AI box” use case in PET we get step current value of 4920mA, while in the table it’s 10A.

For “Front Camera” use case in PET we get step current value of 4300mA, while in the table it’s 9.2A.

So basically, the value in the table is roughly the doubled value from PET.

Could you please clarify what is the reason of this difference?

Thanks and kind regards,

one and zero

  • The EVM load step estimates (as shown in sprt775 app note) use 100% of the dynamic power estimate as a conservative approach for EVM board design due to early release before SoC electrical characterization completion. This approach only impacts total number & size of PoL bulk caps while the buck converter current capacities and SoC peak load estimates remain the same. Customers can determine which load step value to use for end products & optimize their capacitor BOMs accordingly by conducting end product maximum use case testing on their board designs before production release.
