TMS320C6414: Using fastrts64x.lib on a C6414 and CCS 12.8.1

Part Number: TMS320C6414

Tool/software:

Upgrading CCS from 3.3 plat to 12.81.1, a few c6414 projects use fastrts64x.lib. The time savings in the app note are significant, but there are no references to any of is functions when compiled under 12.8.1.

Is this math library still relevant?

Has it's functions been incorporated into the rts6400.lib or another lib?

Why would the references (which are in the 3.3 build map file) disappear when built with 12.8.1?

Thanks

  • Hello Tony,

C6414 has no design support, so we cannot answer any hardware or software questions about this part. Unfortunately, nobody on our team would have tried using that part with any of the recent CCS versions, so we will not be able to comment on using C6414 with CCS 12.8.1.

By the way, I notice that C6414 is listed as OBSOLETE (no longer in production). I am not tied into the factory / production side of the company, but I would suggest reaching out to your TI sales representative to make sure that you will actually be able to buy the quantity of parts that you are planning for. If we are truly stopping production on this device, I am not sure what the timeframes are and how much additional will be produced (if it has not been stopped already).

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Nick,

Thanks for the response and the information.
