Profiling applications on the EVM EZSDK

What are the suggested tools for profiling applications on the DM8168 EVM running the EZSDK? I've tried Valgrind, but that won't work without non-stripped C standard libraries. I also tried compiling with -g -pg and using gprof but this causes the application to not finish gracefully and the gmon.out file is thus not created.

FYI, I am attempting to profile GStreamer.

Hi,

One option is to add a gstperf element to your pipeline. It will periodically print the FPS and ARM load of your pipeline. On the console you should something like this -

frames: 59 current: 58.63 average: 58.63 arm-load: 9

Hi,

I got a nearly similar question:

I want to profile my program on the EVM816x with embedded linux and I want to get results for runtime, runtime in clocks, cache hits and IPC/CPI.

Are there any recommended tools, maybe yet included in the EZSDK 5.02.02.60 I use?
