AM3357: QSPI support

Part Number: AM3357
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM62L

Tool/software:

Hi,

I would like to confirm whether AM335x can support QSPI or not.
When I checked TRM and datasheet, there is no description about QSPI. However, when I checked Linux SDK document, there is description about QSPI usecase.
https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux/esd/AM335X/09_01_00_001/exports/docs/linux/Foundational_Components/U-Boot/UG-QSPI.html

So, I'm little confusing. Could you please give your opinion about this ?
(Or, we can use QPSI but we just use as classic SPI (2 line) ?)

Best Regards,

  • Hi Machida-san,

AM335x doesn't support QSPI. Only AM437x does from that generation of 32-bit ARM SoCs.

You should consider using newer devices including AM62L for your projects, if possible. Especially AM62L might be a good and cost-effective upgrade.

    Regards, Andreas
