AM62A3: Low Power Mode

Dear TI Support Team,

we are considering the option of entering a low power mode in case of secure boot failure to avoid battery drain. we understand that the AM62A provides multiple low power modes. The low power mode "Partial I/O" has the lowest power consumption and highest wakeup latency.

- Is this understanding correct?

- What is required to enter the "Partial I/O" mode?

- Can the entering of "Partial I/O" mode be triggered by SBL?

- What is required to wakeup from the "Partial I/O" mode?

In general we do not have low power mode support with SBLs. For your project will you be using SPLs?

Hi Mukul,

we are using R5-SBL during startup, and SPL only in A53 core.

Would you tell who is able to enter low power mode?

Hi Mukul,

i see in the document that the reference implementation of Partial I/O as a poweroff state is availiable in the Linux SDK. But is it also implemented in the MCU SDK? Is R5 SBL able to trigger the entering of the low power modes?

Hello Man,

SBL boot with Low Power Modes is not supported in the SDK.
