Hello team,

I am working with the SK-TDA4VM evaluation board and would like to interface the Raspberry Pi Camera Rev 1.3, which uses the Omnivision 5647 sensor, through the CSI port of the SK-TDA4VM.

I have successfully flashed the Processor SDK Linux (version 08.02.00.02) onto the board using SD card, following the official guide provided by TI: (https://software-dl.ti.com/jacinto7/esd/processor-sdk-linux-sk-tda4vm/08_02_00/exports/docs/getting_started.html)

Could you please guide me on the following.

1. Does the SDK (08.02.00.02) supports the Omnivision 5647 sensor? If yes

2. What changes are required in the device tree to enable the Pi Cam via the CSI interface?

3. How can I validate whether the camera is properly detected and streaming ?

4. Any links or example device trees related to CSI camera integration on SK-TDA4VM would be helpful.

The driver is within the Linux kernel, so it should work.

If you are running an edge-ai image, the cameras will enumerate on sign in.

Can you move to version 10.01?

As per your request, I have upgraded from version 8.2 to 10.1.

You mentioned that the Omnivision 5647 sensor driver is available in the Linux kernel. However, I found a DTSO file only for the Omnivision 5640 in the kernel. Should I use that DTSO file for the Omnivision 5647?
In the /boot/dtb/ti folder on the TDA4VM, there is no DTBO file available for the Omnivision 5647 and picture for same i attached. Only a DTBO for the Omnivision 5640 is present. Should I use the Omnivision 5640 DTBO file for the Omnivision 5647 sensor?

Hi Miit Prajapati,

You will have to write your own device tree overlay. You can read the ov5647.yaml for the sensor's device-tree layout.

Combine that with how an existing camera overlay looks, for example: k3-j721e-sk-csi2-dual-imx219.dtso

As you suggested, I wrote my own .dtso file for the OV5647 camera by referencing the OV5640 device tree overlay file from the TI Linux kernel:

I then compiled the .dtso file into a .dtbo file and transferred it to the TDA4VM board using Tera Term, placing it in the /boot/dtb/ti directory.
After that, I added the OV5647 .dtbo file to the Overlays entry in the uEnv.txt file.

The camera is connected to the TDA4VM via the CSI port, but the system still does not detect the OV5647 camera.

My .dtso file for the OV5647 is provided below.
