We are encountering kernel panic issues during operation on some of our custom boards based on the TI AM62A7, and would appreciate any guidance or insights from TI experts.
We have attached both the kernel panic log and the boot log for your reference.
Experiment Setup:
- Custom board based on TI AM62A7
- Both A53 and C7x cores are used
- PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-AM62A 10.00.00.08
- Boot from eMMC
- eth0 and eth1 configured in multi-port switch mode and connected in a ring topology
- RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol) enabled
- Custom application is Python-based and uses a multi-process architecture
- The application performs video processing and AI inference
- Inference results are sent to a PC server via MQTT in JSON format
Observed Behavior:
- On certain boards, a kernel panic occurs within 30 minutes to a few hours after boot
- When this happens, the board becomes completely unresponsive: no SSH access, no ping reply
- RSTP appears to stop functioning, followed by broadcast storm symptoms on the Ethernet
- The issue tends to reproduce more quickly when the board is enclosed in a case, and more slowly when it is open
- During normal operation, MPU internal temperature stays around 55–60°C
We would greatly appreciate any suggestions, debugging hints, or directions to further investigate and resolve this issue.
