I want to build DSPLINK in Gingerbread2.3.4 without DVSDK

Hi ,all

I have download Gingerbread2.3.4 Rev 1.0 on beagleboard and I found it doesn't include DSPLINK.So I want to build DSPLINK for Gingerbread2.3.4

After read the doc of DSPLINK,it point that user should use the toolchain from codesourcery ,but for Android ,I think we should use toolchain in the prebuilt directoy.

Am i right? And if we must use the toolchain in the prebuilt , where can I find some info about use bionic to build DSPLINK.

Yes, you definitely could use the Android toolchain to build dsplink. Please check the makefile external/ti-dsp/Makefile in Rowboat (rowboat-gingerbread-dsp.xml manifest) to see how dsplink/dvsdk4.01 gets built.

FYI - rowboat-ginerbread-dsp.xml manifest supports beagle xM with DSP video decoding already.

according to this page, TI give us a android with dsp support.

Does all the features included in TI-Android-GingerBread-2.3.4-DevKit-2.1 presentd in the rowboat-gingerbread-dsp version?

The short answer is yes, they are very close from feature perspective, but not exactly the same. The major feature in Devkit 2.1 release is Gingerbread 2.3.4 support, which is already included in rowboat-gingerbread-dsp, but the big difference is that Devkit 2.1 uses kernel 2.6.37, but rowboat-gingerbread-dsp uses kernel 2.6.32. The kernel version difference causes some features slightly different, for example, the wifi module is different.

So that means I can build and compile rowboat-gingerbread-dsp follow the instrucions in the userguide of Devkit 2.1 release is Gingerbread 2.3.4 .

Am I right?
