AM625SIP: eMMC vs DFU boot power draw

Hi team,

We also see that the power used when booting in through the method used is quite high. On their other silicon vendor processor board, they use a higher amount of power in Uboot then they do idle at a linux command line. They expected to see the same thing with our processor.

Do you know if this is an artifact of the way they booted in (since they have not yet succeeded in booting from emmc)? My assumption is that there should be no difference between the boot modes.

The default governor is “performance”, but tried setting that to “userspace” and forcing the frequency to 200000 (the lowest listed as supported) on all cores and it didn’t change the power almost at all (read back the values and confirmed they changed). Any thoughts?

This is with the prebuilt image “tisdk-base-image-am62xsip-evm.rootfs.tar.xz” from the 10.01.10.04 sdk version.

Thanks,

Luke
