Tool/software:

When using NAND Flash boot mode, does the OMAP-L138 ROM bootloader use any form of an Error Correction Code (ECC) mechanism?

Can the OMAP-L138 ROM bootloader enable the ECC feature on the EMIFA?

Can the OMAP-L138 ROM bootloader enable an ECC feature internal to a NAND Flash device?

If this is documented somewhere already, I would be grateful for a link to information.

yes, OMAPL18 ROM bootloader uses ECC mechanism with EMIFA while booting. We support ONFI 1.0 complaint NAND and can support upto 4bit ECC. We do not support NAND flash that has ECC mechanism on the flash. The ECC needs to be generated using NAND writer/flashing tool. The eCC is generated for every 512 bytes written to a page and then stored in the spare area.
