AM5708: Regarding HDMI memory

Can you tell me a little more about your project?

Is this a new project?

Also what SDK are you using? HDMI output should work out-of-box in Linux image that we ship out with our SDKs.

This is a new project.

I haven't used the SDK yet.

I am planning to use TMDXIDK5718.

What I would like to know is whether or not HDMI memory is required external to the AM5708 when using AM5708 for HDMI output.

Not sure what you mean by external. HDMI will work with the DDR alone and does not need anything extra. Are you asking if it can be done with on-chip memory?

By "external," do you mean that you have to add HDMI-specific memory (such as SRAM or DDR3) to the AM5708?

Since HDMI only works with DDR and there is no need to add anything, does that mean that the DDR3 on Sheet 8 of

the AM571X Industrial EVM schematic is the target?
