TDA4VH-Q1: Maximum trace length, and other routing specifications, for 1Gbps SGMII

Part Number: TDA4VH-Q1

Tool/software:

In 'spracp4a' (Jacinto7 AM6x, TDA4x, and DRA8x High-Speed Interface Design Guidelines) the routing specification is given for SGMII at 2.5GHz.

What would these guidelines be for 1Gbps SGMII?

Could you share what is the PCB material loss (dB/inch) used for these guidelines?

  • SH,

I am not sure what PCB material was used to generate these guidelines.

If you design keeping 2.5GHz (QSGMII) as a reference, then the 1Gbps SGMII should not be an issue.

Also note that the validation of the different interfaces was also done considering the worst case( RX JTOL). You can refer to the IEEE 802.3 spec for 1G SGMII that it is based on.
