Tool/software:
Hi,
We're working on an Automotive module that's currently using RTOS as the base. We've decided to switch a Linux based module for the following reasons.
- Support for high level languages like Python, Java, C++ (with STL support) and shell scripting support.
- Ethernet and PCIe port for Wi-Fi (only for wireless LAN) and BLE connectivity. Wireless mode is optional.
- MIPI Display support (<=1080p)
- MIPI Camera support (optional)
- Audio output support.
- Communication peripherals like UART (3+), I2C, SPI & CAN-FD.
- DDR4/LPDDR4 support.
- EMMC, SD Card and OSPI support.
We're considering AM620-Q1 Single/Dual Core SoC. As for prototyping we're considering SK-AM62-LP starter kit. However, the product page in Mouser mentioned that the kit is at the end of its lifecycle.
So, we thought of getting an opinion from TI team on choosing the SoC & EVK. We're open to consider any other alternative SoC that is production ready.
If you are suggesting any alternative modules (something smaller preferably with no heat sink), we prefer low-cost ones. Also, it'd be helpful if you could provide a list of modules with their features and approximate unit price when ordering in the order of 10K - 25K units/year. Also, if there's any lead time or if the suggested module is not in production or is in development, we'd like to be informed of such constraints in advance.
Hoping for a faster reply. Feel free to contact me in the following for future communication.
