AM62P: RTC backup battery design guide

Hi AMP62P Champ !

My customer asekd about a guidance of RTC backup battery related design.

To maintain the date and time (RTC) on a TI AM62Px MPU-based system during brief power interruptions, a small backup battery or supercapacitor can be used for RTC backup.

The AM62Px series seems includes an internal RTC, which can be powered through an external VBAT pin.

It is not clear how to draw the circuit via TRM chapters since we need a reference diagram or circuit.

We would appreciate if you give us the reference design diagram or something useful

If AM62P does not support External VBAT supply for RTC, Please let us know the external solution. e.g. BQ32002

Thank you for the query.

The use case that you described above is not supported by AM62P.

We have not interfaced the AM62P to an external RTC.

We have the I2C interfaces that can be used to interface to an external RTC.

Have you looked at AM62L.

Dear Expert: The AM62Px series seems to have an internal real-time clock (RTC). Can it be powered by the external VBAT pin, or is it possible for VBAT to serve as an input and be converted by an LDO to supply power to the internal RTC?

Please refer above reply. this is not an use case that has been considered or recommended given the current consumption.
