DRA821U: Is Micron 2 die and 4 die LPDDR in same configuration?

Part Number: DRA821U
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRA821

Tool/software:

Dear Sir,

My customer use a Micron LPDDR4 on their own board and I found the difference is only 2 dies and 4 dies.

For the configuration in DDRSS, are these two LPDDR4 using same configuration or any difference point need to set?

to replace LPDDR4 on DRA821 EVM

  • Hi Rich,

If there is no difference in number of ranks (i.e, both parts use 2 ranks), then the same settings should work as they are both 32-bit wide and have same total density. As they are different parts, it might be that different IO settings may be needed, but it is also very possible / likely the same IO settings should be sufficient. They do seem to indicate different operating temperature ranges, as a side note.

    Regards,
    Kevin

  • Kevin,

Thanks for the confirmation, we have made the new part worked with the same configuration on EVM.

These two part share the same configuration without problem.

    BR, Rich
