Release - Android DevKit for AM335x / Beaglebone

TI’s Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 DevKit version 2.1.1 release is now available for AM335x device. The release has been validated on AM335x EVMs and Beaglebone.

The DevKit release can be downloaded from www.ti.com/sitara-android.

What's in this release?

The DevKit release package can be used to demonstrate Android features on AM335x using pre-built SD card images, customers can start developing Android products and applications using the sources, tools and docs provided in the release package, debugging tools like TI’s CCSv5 with Android plugins provided in the release can be used to debug Android apps.

The release is Google Android CTS complaint and is based on Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 & Linux kernel 3.1. The release includes drivers and OpenGL framework for 3D graphics (SGX) acceleration, WLAN and Bluetooth firmware and drivers for TI’s WL1271, ARM based Multimedia Video Decoders for MPEG4/VP8, Linux peripheral drivers for MMC/SD, UART, Ethernet, Keypad, USB, LCD, TouchScreen audio out/in, etc,
