How to add 48 character lcd support in linux for OMAPl138

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAPL138

Hi,

I am using OMAPL138 evm board . We wanted to use linux with that.. am using linuxsdk v 4_02_00_06.

Added 48 character lcd support in the kernel following the step given in

http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/GSG:_Building_Software_Components_for_OMAP-L1#Character_LCD

Got three modules lcd.ko, backlight.ko and genericbl.ko

is that straight forward to insert these modules in to the kernel or any work is there?

What is the major and minor number for /dev/lcd if we are inserting these modules into filesystem built separately.
