TDA4VM-Q1: Does HS-FS device support unsigned image booting?

Part Number: TDA4VM-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi, Dear Expert

This is a double check

As far as I know, Only GP device support "unsigned image" booting, isn't?

HS-FS device only support keywriter for key writting, but HS-FS device "do not" support  "unsigned image" booting (ex: unsigned bootloader/kernel), isn't?

Does our device have change?

Thank You.

Gibbs

  • Hi Gibbs,

There was a time that this used to be the only s/w supported on HS-FS devices.

This is no longer the case. The TI SDKs do support booting s/w on HS-FS devices. The TDA4VM-SK, AM68-SK, AM69-SK, J722S EVM boards all use HS-FS samples by default, with support for boot in corresponding SDKs.

The slide you referenced can do with an update.
