Tool/software:

Is there specific reason why on the TDA4VH evaluation module design (SPRR458C, PROC141E5_RP) the series resistors (place reservations) are located next to the trace connector and not closer to the SoC (transmitter of the trace data)?

Is the recommendation to place them closer to connector or closer to SoC?

    The resistors should not be needed as the IO are tuned to 50-ohms output impedance, which should match the PCB.  If using for source termination - yes should be placed near source (Processor).  If using for other visibility/modification/etc - then could be placed at other locations (example near emulator connector).
