  • Hi,

If the logo is displayed, then display is working fine.. isn't it? Which demo are you running? Also are you using RTOS SDK or Linux SDK?

    Regads,

    Brijesh

  • Hello Brijesh,

The logo is not displaying now with the same sd card untouched. That's what our query is now.

Please refer the below logs, it might be useful.

Could you please check these logs also?

  • Hi,

But are you using display from rtos? Have you enabled vision apps dtb file?

    Regards,

    Brijesh

  • Hello Brijesh,

By referring a forum ticket I tried to comment some lines in vision apps dtso file. I got some background pic like this I have attached. And in app_cfg_mcu2_0 single_dss is defined. But when I tried to run vision_apps run_app_tidl.sh, it is hanging in between. It is waiting for display. Could you please tell me I'm on the correct path? My need is to check the default vision apps output in the display. I'm using sdk 10.00

  • Hi,

Could you please first decide which demo you want to run and this decides which core controls Display? If you want to run TIDL demo, please dont change vision apps dtb and mcu2_0 firmware. In this case, you will not see any background images from Linux, but you would see output from the TIDL demo..

Please note only one core can control display either Linux or R5F, not both. When using RTOS SDK, display is controlled by R5F and disabled in Linux dtb file. But in Linux SDK, display is controlled by Linux and so we cannot use/run TIDL like demos, which are available in RTOS SDK.

    Regards,

    Brijesh

  • Hello Brijesh,

Actually I need to use Linux+Rtos. So are you telling to build sd card from rtos sdk right? So that it'll work. But we tried that. We got nothing in the display, but demo application was running fine.

  • But have you disable Display from Linux? essentially, have you used released vision apps dtb file?

    Regards,

    Brijesh

  • Yes initially I was using default only. But as soon as I didn't get display, I changed and checked. Exactly where I can disable display in linux?

  • Hello Brijesh,

I want to run tidl demos with display in r5f. Can you please guide me here? Or can we have a quick call and sort this out? It will be more helpful.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hariprakash Raja

  • Hi,

Can you follow the steps mentioned on below link? there is no other change required. The steps also mention how to create SD card, how to flash filesystem and kernel into it and how to build vision apps and copy binaries into it..

Vision Apps User Guide: Build and Run

    Regards,

    Brijesh

  • Hello Brijesh,

I followed all the steps as it is and built the sd card. And tried to run the vision_apps, demo applications are running fine but I can't see the output in the display. I've attached the logs here. Please cross check and guide here.

    Thanks & Regards,

  • Hi Brijesh,

    I referred this forum
    https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1393878/processor-sdk-j784s4-vision-apps-not-displaying-output-on-processor-sdk-j784s4-9-2?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=display%20vision%20apps#

I'm using Lenovo G32qc-30. Is there any patch need to be applied for this display or will it work directly?

I'll also try to change the monitor and check.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hariprakash Raja

  • ok, as such it should work with monitor support standard 1080p 60fps display, but sure lets check with different monitor.

    Regards,

    Brijesh

  • Hello Brijesh,

After changing the monitor to Dell E2715Hf,  tidl demos started displaying on the monitor. Thanks for your support.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hariprakash Raja

  • That's great, thanks, closing this thread.
